We work with child care providers to ensure all families have access to exceptional early learning opportunities throughout Pinellas County. We want all children to enter kindergarten ready to succeed - in school as well as in life. Family Services A young child’s earliest experiences–at home, at school and in the community–set the stage for lifelong success. Through our School Readiness (SR), Voluntary Prekindergarten (VPK), and Child Care Resource and Referral (CCR&R) programs, we work to ensure that Pinellas County families are supported and their children have access to the resources needed to be ready to enter kindergarten and thrive. Provider Services Child care providers work with young children every day to provide early learning opportunities. Our staff elevates and supports early care educators with resources, services, programs offered the Professional Development Institute, and contract support. Professional Development Institute Learn More Provider Programs Learn More Screening & Intervention Services The Screening & Intervention department receives and interprets screening regularly and has the ability to work one-on-one with children to increase their skills to prepare them for kindergarten. In addition, parents and providers are given pertinent information concerning developmental milestones, behavior management and other topics of interest.
